For our world to become a better place it’s going to be up
to you and me. We have got to work together. Rich and poor, young and old, and everybody in-between – all
ethnicities and colors, all religions, all nationalities, etc. We have to come together, share our
stories and ideas, analyze the root causes of our problems, and then develop
viable solutions - including figuring out how to get our Solution Plans
actualized!
We face a multitude of problems in our world, and in our
nation. Our elected officials are
not going to fix them. Although it
seems to be getting worse than ever, we have seen this ineptitude and
selfishness on the part of political leaders for generations. In fact, history has shown this to us
for thousands of years.
The two most important qualities of the kind of leaders we
need in our world are integrity and concern for the common good. There are countless numbers of people
throughout the world who have these qualities in greater abundance than do the
large majority of our elected officials.
The regular, everyday people of the world have been
programmed to not think of ourselves as leaders, but we are. We are problem-solvers. For some of us every single day is
fraught with problems that have to be figured out and dealt with.
Every person in the world has a unique perspective on any
given topic, and the more angles you look at something from, the closer you come
to understanding its truth. And
that understanding, that assessment of truth, is the first step to fixing or
healing, or at least substantially improving, that particular issue or problem.
SOLUTIONS By You and Me was born of necessity.
If we don’t step up our world is surely doomed. Think about it. It’s our lives, our children’s and
children’s children’s lives, that are being and will be affected. Do we want to continue giving over the
power to solve problems to those people who care little or not at all about
anybody other than themselves?!
Because we are not looking for temporary solutions but
rather for true foundational change we have identified – so far – six areas
that we believe need to be worked on immediately, including:
the
most effective system of electing the best people to public office;
an
economic system that meets the needs of all who are willing to work;
a legal system that not only claims to be
but is actually fair and just;
a
school system that educators, parents, and students feel good about; and which
fosters the positive
development of students and our world;
an
environmental policy that ensures the healthiest and highest quality of living
for all;
a
U.S. foreign policy that best ensures the safety and well-being of Americans and all
others
around the globe.
